While visiting Salt Lake City, our mom found out about City Cakes in an information brochure about Salt Lake City. Our family decided to go check the bakery out because we can rarely eat at bakeries with our numerous food allergies. We were pleasantly surprised when our parents talked to the employee, who was very patient and understanding and showed us the full list of ingredients for the many items we requested, and many items were safe for us! Even though there are peanuts present in the bakery, we just ordered the pastries far from the ones with peanuts in the display case.

Personally, the cinnamonroll was very flavorful, and the frosting on it was amazing; the lemon cupcake was very moist and tasted just the right amount of sweet; and the snickerdoodle cookie was very sweet, soft, and had a really good texture!

If you are ever in Salt Lake City, we would highly recommend that you grab a sweet, tasty treat from City Cakes!

What steps do you take to accommodate people with food allergies?

We ensure that there is no cross contamination by making sure the bakery is gluten free, that there are separate vegan and gluten free areas in the warehouse, and that the packaging is done separately.

What foods on the menu are safe for people allergic to milk, egg, wheat, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, and sesame seeds (top 9 allergens)

The gluten free banana muffin, gluten free banana bread, the majority of gluten free donuts, and soy free cakes are safe.

Have you been to City Cakes? Planning to go? Feel free to leave your own thoughts in the comment section of this article and/or ask questions about the bakery, and we will try our best to answer!
